One of the smallest deices on the market with advanced functionality in hardware and software.

The SYMAP® -Compact + is designed in a compact housing with a small depth. The 90 mm depth including terminal plugs is suitable for almost any compartment, for both shallow and/or narrow compartments. On the retrofit projects it can save additional mechanical extensions and work when mounting and adjusting the device on the compartment's door.

The SYMAP Compact + has up to 5 microcontrollers for better performance and reliability. One microcontroller for Measurement and Protection functions (MU), one for Control functions (CU), one for Graphic (GU), one for Communication (ComU) and one for additional inputs and outputs (EBS). If the touch screen is broken or the whole graphic unit, the device can still work, or if the robust communication card is in failure the protection and control will still work. If the control or protection is in failure the communication card can send remotely the alarm message that the device is in failure. The intermedium communication between microcontrollers covers different ways of watchdogs and self-diagnostic task.

Two independent microcontrollers (PCB cards) for ethernet communication. One for communication protocols, network protocols and for service task as: parametrization, protection and event history download and one independent ethernet port and microcontroller for service task as parametrization, protection and event history download for isolated connection for better cybersecurity.

Event Recorder

The event history saves up to 10.000 events by using the first-in-first-out (FIFO) principle. Each event provides information such as:

the consecutive number
the event number
the event text
date and time stamp
Events are recorded with a temporal resolution of 1ms, and will be displayed in chronological order. The latest event is on the top of the event list.
The total number of protocols which can be run simultaneously depends on the number of communication interfaces.
The protocols under Ethernet interface: Modbus TCP, IEC61850 and IEC60870-5, can always work simultaneously.

GOOSE
SYMAP ® Compact + with his numbers of virtual inputs and outputs allows to extend the use of GOOSE messages in diverse applications. Most important it can provide additional safety and flexibility in wide range of applications.

High-speed GOOSE
Under normal conditions the GOOSE message total time with application time is ca. 0,7 - 1,5 ms. Under GOOSE performance test (abnormal conditions) the time can take up to 1- 1,5 ms longer in 99% of logs and in 1% a bit longer, but with zero message lost and without retransmissions. Note!

The GOOSE performance test created by KEMA DNV GL is the only test which shows the reliability of the GOOSE message in substations.

[ EXTENSION BOARD SYSTEM - EBS ]

  • The number of binary inputs and outputs can be increased with Extension Board System (EBS).
    The Extension Board System consists of several board types with different functions.
    Each board is designed for DIN rail mounting according to standard DIN TS35.
    The maximum numbers of binary inputs and outputs on extended boards not including the basic unit SYMAP® - Compact + are:
